The first batch of Grade 12 graduates merited an excellent record of admissions in the world’s top-ranked universities making the MITIS administration and faculty exceedingly happy and fulfilled.
Heading the list of achievers is Joo Byung Park or “Kyle” as he is affectionately called by his mentors and peers. Kyle is inclined to pursue a course in chemistry, chemical engineering, or chemical and biological engineering. He has received notices of admission from a number of universities among which are the University of California in Los Angeles, University of Toronto, Nagoya University, University of Illinois at Urbana, Ohio State University, and the University of British Columbia.
Should Kyle opt to enroll at Nagoya University, he is bound to enjoy a full-tuition scholarship and an annual allowance of 500,000 JPY. If he decides to go to the University of British Columbia, he shall enjoy an initial grant of $8,000 CD which the UBC offers to outstanding students.
Kyle has scored very well in his SAT test and has earned Advanced Placement Scholar Award for passing all his advanced placement (AP) examinations with high marks.
Kyle typifies the comments of his classmates on the reasons behind their success in schooling. Kyle attributes his achievements to his parents and teachers. He cites the supportiveness of his parents which they manifest in countless ways including such simple things as preparing good food. He has kind words for his teachers who make classes fun and exciting “to help me keep the passion for academic success burning within me.”
The list of achievers include Cho, Munki(Brian), Che, Bong Jo (Jason), Kim She Yeob (Alexander), Kim Tae Yeob ((T.Y.), Yoo, Hyun Jong (Jeff), Kwon , Ji Hee (Angel), and Park Ye Ji.
Brian plans to get an Economics degree either at the Pennsylvania State University or Michigan State University. He is also considering to enroll at the Ritsumeikan University which is ranked No. 1 for International Relations major in Japan.
Che, Bong Jo (Jason) may go to the Pennsylvania State University or Michigan State University for a Business major while Jeff plans to go to the Raffles Design Institute in Singapore, and Alexander to the National University in Ireland. Angel and T.Y. will both go to Doshisha University with Angel enjoying a 50% tuition scholarship for four years for a Law major and T.Y. getting a 30% tuition grant for two years for an Economics major.
Park Ye Ji prefers to enter De La Salle University-Manila for a Chemistry degree while Grade 10 graduate Aimee Benjamin has decided to enter the University of Santo Tomas for a Biology degree.
