My dear students,
I warmly welcome you back from your summer vacation. I sincerely hope you spent great moments with your families. I have always believed that family members, together with good health and well-rounded education are the best treasures we should cherish.
Our faculty and staff did a lot of preparations while you were away. Our office and custodial staff did a good job in assuring you a more pleasant school environment that relates well to our school community’s commitment to excellence, caring, and gentleness. I hope you find time to reciprocate their friendly greetings and gestures of supportiveness.
Our top-caliber teachers spent three weeks of intensive preparations for a great school year. Among them are fresh graduates with excellent academic credentials. Together they worked on our curriculum benchmarks and standards towards significantly higher achievement targets in the Advanced Placement (AP) examinations and National Achievement Tests (NAT) and the admission of our graduates in the best universities both in the Philippines and abroad. They also made initial preparations to engage you, my dear students, in our Creative Social Outreach (CSO) in a much deeper and sustained levels.
I am greatly pleased that our teachers have pledged to collaborate well and extensively as a professional learning community. The teachers have worked as a STRIPES Team and an ESLRs Team and together they developed the MITIS Faculty Shared Commitments. I hope in the near future we can take pride in having the MITIS Parents and Guardians’ Shared Commitments
I join the teachers in their deep conviction that “the secret of education lies in respecting the pupil” as quoted from Ralph Waldo Emerson. The teachers are out to show you much more love and respect and I hope such will lead you to love and enjoy your school work more and in return to love and respect your teachers more. This is why we find ourselves celebrating Courtesy Week and Recognition Day in August. We celebrate our commitment to Respect and Excellence as core values of our school.
Towards the second half of August we shall devote time to celebrate Ninoy Aquino Day, National Heroes Day, and the Muslim feast of Eid ul- Fitr. These celebrations are meant to promote justice and peace, love of country, brotherhood, and faith in God which I believe rest firmly at the core of global citizenship.
We look forward to the spring of 2012 when we shall have the WASC full accreditation visit. It will be a milestone in our school’s journey from its humble beginnings in 2007 towards becoming an exemplary international school. It will be a year of hard work but I hope you will enjoy and love the many pleasant things good education offers to all learners.
With best regards to your families, I remain
Very sincerely,
Dr. Bienvenido V. Santos
Principal
